Speech and Language Therapy is much more than a profession to me. I believe that behind every communication difficulty is a child who wants to be heard and understood. The most rewarding part of my work is building trusting relationships with children and their families, supporting them throughout their developmental journey with compassion, respect and evidence-informed practice.
Short Biography
I was born and raised in Ptolemaida, Greece. I graduated from the Department of Speech and Language Therapy at the Technological Educational Institute of Epirus (Ioannina) and have been practising as a Speech and Language Therapist since 2006, with a particular interest in the assessment and intervention of children with developmental and communication difficulties.
I currently serve as President of the Hellenic Association of Speech and Language Therapists (SELLE). I have also chaired the Organising Committee of the Association's 3rd Scientific Conference and lead the Special Interest Group for Autism, contributing to the advancement of clinical practice and professional education in the field of autism spectrum disorders.
As part of my ongoing professional development, I have completed postgraduate professional training in Special Education, with a focus on standardised assessment tools and intervention planning, as well as further training in Psychology, Counselling and Life Coaching.
I have undertaken advanced training in a range of evidence-informed clinical approaches, including MiniKids, Intensive Interaction, Attention Autism, Simata, Developmental Profile of Social Communication (APKE – Circles Model), Social Stories, TEACCH, Palin Parent–Child Interaction (Palin PCI), Makaton, Lis'n Tell, Cognitive Behavioural Drama (CBD) and the Vehicle Model (VM) for the management of paediatric feeding disorders.
I regularly attend specialist courses and professional workshops covering autism spectrum disorders, sensory processing, fluency disorders, psychometric assessment and contemporary evidence-informed approaches in Speech and Language Therapy.
I have presented clinical and research work at national scientific conferences through oral presentations and poster sessions.
I remain committed to lifelong professional development and to delivering high-quality, evidence-informed care to children and their families.
